In the true fashion of a family-owned business, owners Brent, Blair, OB, and Maeve Philp began the business GolfStar in 1990, working out of the basement of the family home. After having a successful career in the dental field, the owners’ sister, Kim, joined the business as the operations manager after OB passed away in 1995.
It didn’t take long for GolfStar to develop a strong reputation for reliability and excellent customer service. While much has changed since those early days, we remain true to our humble beginnings and the belief that excellent service is the key to our success. Our passion and enthusiasm for golf has never wavered and we will continue to show how valuable our customers are to us by helping them generate revenue, grow their business, and grow the game of golf.
In the summer of 2023, GolfStar was purchased by Curtis and Brittany Van Dorp along with their 3 young kids. Curtis and his family hope to continue the GolfStar legacy of customers first. As an avid golfer himself, Curtis enjoys talking with customers about their current operations and areas to expand their business. When he isn’t packing boxes or on the phone, he can be found out at Cultus Lake Golf or Sandpiper GC enjoying a round or visiting customers.
After all these years, we are still a family company and we are proud to be in our 34th year of service to the golfing industry, providing highly-quality products and services to over 500 customers nationwide. We are also proud to be an exclusive dealer in Canada for Martini and Ray Cook.
